This is one of the new works for 2006. It has been very popular and I have had a couple of people asking me about the artwork. I am including the text from the sheet I include with the large limited edition prints.
Rock and roll may never die, but this guitarist sure did. Apparently that isn’t going to stop him from sharing his talent with the crowds or anyone willing to listen. In his new realm, he is still on stage, under the bright lights playing his heart out with a smile on his face.
The dead are ever present; seen and unseen they continue to take part in our daily lives. Heard and unheard they speak to us—whether we listen to them or not. Just as a musician can write a song that is played long after they have left this world, everyone you love has written something deep into your being, and you in turn share this with everyone else you love. The lack of a physical presence does not lessen the lessons taught.
